Your Personal AI Writing Partner

Cicero Intern is an AI assistant that lives directly in your document editor. Unlike external AI tools, Cicero Intern understands your entire document context and can make changes directly where you need them.

Accessing Cicero Intern

There are two ways to open the AI assistant:

  1. The Floating Orb - Look for the circular Cicero logo button floating in the bottom-right corner of your screen
  2. The Toolbar Button - Click the wand icon in the second row of the toolbar

When you click either option, the chat panel expands with a smooth animation.

The Assistant Panel

The Cicero Intern panel provides a complete chat experience:

  • Draggable Header - Move the panel anywhere on your screen
  • Resize Controls - Choose between compact, normal, or expanded sizes
  • Message History - Your conversation persists even after closing the panel
  • Input Area - Type your questions or requests

How to Ask for Help

When interacting with Cicero Intern, be specific about what you need:

"Make the second paragraph more concise"

"Search the web for recent statistics on renewable energy"

"Change all instances of 'client' to 'customer'"

The assistant understands natural language, so write as you would speak to a colleague.

Context Awareness

Cicero Intern always knows:

  1. The full text of your document
  2. What text you have selected (if any)
  3. What type of block your cursor is in
  4. Whether you're asking about the selection or the entire document

This context awareness means you can say things like "improve this paragraph" when you have text selected, and the assistant knows exactly what you mean.

The Thinking Indicator

When Cicero Intern is processing your request, you'll see:

  • A pulsing animation around the orb
  • An animated "thinking" indicator in the chat
  • Tool status messages showing what the AI is doing

This transparency helps you understand what's happening behind the scenes.

Chat History

Your conversation with Cicero Intern persists in your browser. This means:

  • You can close the panel and reopen it later
  • Previous context is maintained for follow-up questions
  • You can reference earlier parts of your conversation
